Wally Croft (Outside Task) Poster

Wally Croft, no, not Lara, but Wally Croft, a figure which has been created using the admired characters of both fictional worlds of book and video game (Where's Wally? and Lara Croft). Two characters merged together to create a very superior lady, weird idea, but thats Paige for you!
The genres we are focusing on are Sci-Fi and Crime but with the occasional comedic element. Our Media Studies class were hammered by our Media teacher into steering clear from using comedey in our film idea, but our group feel that C-B-A wouldn't have the same kick and purpose, without his funny bone.
Wally Croft was created for the purpose of creating a story board with the same plot and theme as the film, ‘Outsider’ ; A hero winds up in a desolated town, owned by thugs who strike fear into every soul that settles there. The hero, (being Wally, in our story) gets attacked by the thugs and seeks safety in a nearby bar. The bar tender explains of the on-going situation and so the hero again meets with the thugs and partakes in a stand out, resulting in the hero winning the stand-off by shooting at the thugs.

Hyperbole will be a key theme; we are talking about a century light-years away. Society itself will be bigger, bolder and crazier than ever before. Ms Croft has a variety of able weapons - acid-squirting pistols are a popular favourite of hers. Some of our film, we chose to be animated, with the lack of new-age gadget, we have in 2011, today.
Wally Croft- the hero of our film presents the characteristics of Propp’s theory of stereotypical characters used through visual presentations such as plays and films. Wally Croft is the hero and the soul of the film, the film is initially about Croft’s experiences through the desolate town of Vinnera and her missions undertaken there.

There are two gangs; Marco the robot gang and Jahnny the human gang. Both gangs present Todorov's main persona on the main character of the villian, in charcteristic and behaviour wise etc.C-B-A is Croft's sidekick but in a twist, C-B-A is working for Marco 'cos C-B-A owes Marco a debt that he can't pay back, therefore has to give Croft in himself. C-B-A is a robot companion who then evolves into the characters of Helper, mentor and narrator. CBA brings elements of both genres shown in the film, comedy and Sci-Fi. CBA, again has taken form from the character of ‘Bender’ In ‘Futurama’, fun loving, alcoholic and drug tolerant.  CBA helps and mentors Croft on her expedition of Vinnera and shows and explains the ways.
Genres again consist of Sci-Fi and comedy originating from the two main characters of this short film. The whole theme and setting of this short film would contain features of a Sci-fi genre. Comical elements are again devised by the main character of CBA.
